Note: Management of The School for Integrated Urban Planning reserves the right to change tuition fees and other charges. In 3-4 Weeks 70% of the tuition fees must be paid and thereafter 0% balance: All money must be deposited by the registered student in person on SIUP accounts. SIUP will not be responsible for lost or misplace tuition fees.

Advanced Diploma for Municipal Council and Local Government Workers 

The course can be offered in four and half month intensive reading:

Course Units: 

1.        GIS and Digitised Map making alt. Advanced Cartography (URP 2401)

2.       Land Surveying (ING1001)

3.       Urban Planning and Applied Site Planning (URP 2305)

4.       Urban Planning and Policy (URP2306)

5.       Infrastructure Systems (CEN 1104)

Course start first week of April 2014

Duration of the course: 4.5 Months
Course date: September 2014 to January 2015 and January 2015– April 2015
Award: Advanced Diploma
Tuition Fees: UG 1,500,000 shs plus functional fees

This course is intended for:
The target audience is specifically Local Government and Municipal Workers

•    Local Governmental Workers with 4 years of working or researching experience

Eligibility:

1. A bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or similar institute in a field related to the chosen course.
2. A professional with at least four years’ relevant work experience in a related field

Students with a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution can apply. Download the application forms at the page fill it in, attach three passport photos and copies of your academic transcripts, ID passport copy and bring it to the academic registrar’s office or send it to the post box mail on the website.

Kampala school for Integrated Urban Planning has three semesters;

1.       January (spring semester) intake courses start in February ending June.

2.       March-May (summer school) intake courses start in June ending in October. 

3.       July in take (winter semester) starting in September ending in January.

Requirements for East Africans (Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Burundi, Tanzania, Somalia)

 Degree Course programs – Ordinary Level (O) five credits and Advanced Level (A) two principal passes or equivalent for degree.

Diploma Course programs – Ordinary Level (O) five credits and Advanced level (A) one principle pass and 2 subsidiary passes

Certificate Course programs – Ordinary Level (O) five credits

For 8-4-4 system must have a C+ for degree course, C for a diploma and D+ for certificate. You also do a bridging course for one year in three subjects related to the diploma or degree course you wish to undertake at SIUP.

 Students from Europe, North America and Asia should send attached letters from their respective University’s international office or faculty/departmental heads together with their application.

All students coming from non English speaking countries must have passed English test or do a one year intensive English course.

Master Programes Requirement

  • A good honours degree from a recognised institution
  • A good first degree and post diploma from recognised institution
  • A master degree from a recognised institution
  • Intake is only in February and August.

Students from Europe, North America and Asia should send attached letters from their respective Secondary School/colleges or University’s international office or faculty/departmental heads together with their application.

All students coming from non English speaking countries must have passed English test or do a one year intensive English course.
