Researchers / Lecturers and Students are welcome
International Students from the Americas, European and Nordic students, teachers and researchers who wish to come Uganda to do their research projects minor field research reports, masters programs(dissertations)/PhD(thesis)/praktikant) are welcome to contact the Principal of Kampala School for Integrated Urban Planning www.siup.ac.ug at info[at]siup.ac.ug
Fees per semester is 4101 Swedish kr (546.90 $ US) plus 952 Swedish kr ( 127.06 $ US) administrative fees (school ID, Basic Medical Fee, registration, internet provisions).
For those who have no place to stay, we normally organise residence with a Uganda family or students can share rooms in a complete house (villa). Normally rent is 450000 UGX shs (~190 US dollars) per month for a three room house. Electricity and water bills are paid by the tenant if the period exceeds one month, accept where the student stay in a family house.
For those staying for just a week we can organise a hotel facility at 110’000 UGX shs per night including meals of one’s choice (breakfast, lunch and super plus coffee any time)
Excursions can be organised for visits to National Parks through our Tourists agent. Park entry fees are standard and set by the state. Visits to Tanzania and Kenya can be organised ONLY as group safaris.
East Africa has now a single visa fee. You can also visit Africa Scholarship.

Objectives of the School
Kampala School for Integrated Urban Planning objectives are fourfold:
a. To turn the school into an International Centre for Integrated Urban Planning Research. The potential is quite big, for doing ground breaking research, in the East and Central Africa region. Basically, there are no planned cities at all in this region, hence need for a huge number of planning specialists of all categories.
b. To be able to develop and prototype new urban technologies, with focus on sustainability, gender sensibilities and the environment.
c. Instruction (undergraduates/graduate) and Exchanges of students /Lecturers and promotion of joint academic material.
d. Promotion of the Urban Planning field as a business in the region – hence the business arm of the School (SIUP Holdings) at this website www.idrc-ug.com Students as well as lecturers/researchers would be able to implement, design and /or bid for projects through the business arm.
The school is covering Congo, Somalia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Southern Sudan and SIUP has received interest from students in Nigeria and Zambia. SIUP desire is to have a school that can interactively and integratively teach about all areas in urban planning fields. So SIUP started with four departments.
Students, who completed ordinary level education, have 5 credits with geography or the equivalent can join university college education at a certificate level in the following course programmes:
Students, who completed Advanced level education, have 2 principals, 2 subsidiaries with geography or the equivalent can join university college education at either at a degree or diploma level in the following course programmes:
